Jodie Epper is a volunteer fundraiser, from Australia, working at Jaringan Masyarakat Sipil (JMS) Lombok in Rembiga. One of her roles at JMS has been to seek donations from Australia, and so far it has been a success. Donations of mobile phones, projectors and money have arrived in Lombok with the latest projector arriving today.
JMS  delivers training sessions in villages which is very difficult without a projector.  “I am very glad a small thing like a projector can have such good immediate results” she said.
Fundraising is a difficult job, it is hard for small organisations like JMS to tick all the boxes and win international grants to improve the situation in Lombok.
“Lets hope these small successes will lead to bigger things for JMS and for Lombok” she said.
Ilham the Manager of JMS also agrees.
“We have many issues here in Lombok that need addressing.  Winning an international grant will allow us the capacity to solve some of these” he said.
